Happy Halloween!

Every year, we try to dress up with a Family theme. But the older our kids get, the harder it gets to decide because they have their own ideas what they wanna be.

This year, we had to persuade Titan to be one of them.... Scooby.

yap, so our theme for this year is Scooby doo clan.

ランセン、ブレイディン、ハッピーは、お話に出てくる怪物たち。

吸血鬼、死神、フランケンシュタイン。

フレッドがいないのは、怪物たちに食べられたってことで・・・。

Although T kept switching what to be (every time he saw super hero costumes at store or on TV), he was actually pretty happy with Scooby costume.

He got one of the best costume prize at church party. Yay!

スーパーヒーローになりたがる年頃のタイタン君、心変わりがしょっちゅうあったものの、結構スクービーが気に入ってたみたいで、パーティーに行く何日も前から、試着して家中歩き回ってました。

Ellie was sooooo cute.

She had no idea what's goin on, but she was pretty patient with me trying the wig on her many many times as I was making it and making sure if it fitted perfectly.

ひぃちゃんは、もうとにかくかわいかった。

髪の毛が元々ないから、カツラかぶってもっと女の子らしく見えた。

このカツラ、私の手作り。

中のビーニー（ニット帽）から編み上げて、

毛糸でかみをくっつけました。

ちゃんとフィットするように何度も何度も試着してもらって、

ひぃちゃんはその度に「なにごとじゃ〜」って

あたふたしてたけど、

かぶったらかぶったで、全く嫌がることもなかった。

Since Hawaii is so hot and food don't last long outside, we really cannot carve pumpkins too early. We just got a pumpkin on Saturday.

ハワイは暑いから、早々とカボチャを彫ってしまうと、すぐ腐る。

ので、ハローウィンの前日にゲット。

Welcoming Ellie for the first time to our Halloween occasion, Daddy put a flower on Jack.

Our Summer

The last weekend of our summer break, our kids got to join in Boy scout's camp with Daddy since Daddy is the Scout Master. (Ellie and I were at home. That was nice too!)

夏休みの最後の日に、スカウトのキャンプに連れて行ってもらった息子たち。ひぃちゃんと私は、お留守番。

They had a blast. Someday we like to plan a family camp out, but now it's so hard to camp out because of the county restriction...

男たちは、かなり楽しんで帰ってきました。いつか、家族でキャンプしたいねんけど、最近キャンプのルールが厳しくてねえ。簡単にビーチでキャンプってわけには行かないみたい。

Linden came to teach our kids how to fish. They told me that Linden got two eels! I don't know if my kids got any... but they enjoyed it.

親戚のリンデン君が、わざわざ来て釣りを教えてくれたらしいよぉ。リンデンは、うなぎを２匹。（あなご？）こどもたちは、釣れたんかんなあ。

This shower's water pressure was sooooooooooo strong that it knocked Titan down...LoL

ビーチでキャンプやから、朝起きたらまずビーチでひと泳ぎ。ここのシャワー。水圧がかなり強くて、最初水出したら、タイタンにあたって、ぶっ飛んで、ひっくり返ったらしいよぉ。プププ。

Ellie's Baby Blessing

On July 4th which made Ellie one month old, we had her baby blessing. While H was blessing her, what happened? Oh, two young ones got wiggly and fussy, and I was too busy to settle them down. I had no idea what H was praying about. Lady sitting behind us told us that she was sorry and wished she could have written it down for me.

Likely happen to a big family (or a busy family), we forgot to take picture at church so that we had to ask kids to put thier ties back on, and took some pics at our porch. Phewww, what a day.

Our friend let us use their daughter's baby blessing dress which really helped us to start off Girlie girlie things for Ellie. (She's still using boys' clothes, blankets and bibs... sorry honey... I admit that she looks so cute in the dress :)

BTW, boys don't wear slippers and socks to church. y, yeah, they don't...

７月４日に、幼児の祝福をさせてもらいました。祝福中は、Happyとタイタンがごそごそ動き出し、うるさくなりだして、まったくエイチがどんな祈りをしてたのか、思い出せません。（泣）しかも、教会はいつもバタバタして、すっかり写真をとるのを忘れてしまい、家に帰ってきて慌てて（写真を撮ってないことに気づき）、ポーチでパチリ！

お友達がドレスを貸してくれて、日頃着慣れない女の子のドレス。かわいかったあ。（いまでも、お兄ちゃんのお下がり、着させられてるひぃちゃんです・・・。ごめんちゃい）

Welcome to our family, our little princess!!!

Finally, we are holding our daughter in our arms.

She was born on June 4th, at 8:12 am. 7 lb. 13 oz., 20 inches.

Her name is Ellie Kauaola Hitoha Nitahara.

She loves to eat and be hugged! (well, who doesn't?)

Boys are fighting over who's gonna carry her next, but they are taking good care of her. Yes, even Titan's been a good big brother.

H was wishing for one more boy and wasn't sure if he could handle a girl, yet you should look at him now. He's totally IN LOVE WITH HER!!!

やっと生まれてきましたぁ。予定日より１週間遅れ。自然に陣痛も来て、自然分娩ですんなり（お母ちゃんの痛みはピークでしたが・・・）出てきてくれました。病院入りして３時間。プッシュし始めて２０分で生まれて来たお母ちゃん思いな子です。

よく食べ、よく泣き、いっぱい（お兄ちゃんに）抱っこされて、育ってます。まだ１週間半ですが、ほっぺもふっくらしてきましたよ〜。

あんなに「もう一人男が欲しい。女の子・・・自信な〜い。」とぼやいていたエイチ君も、メロメロです。

Happy is on Fire

This video is of Happy's 2nd match last week at War Memorial tournament. He got so emotional during the match. He started crying. But right after the break, he was pumped up, I guess. He also won the next match, and got 1st place at this tournament.

As I watched this game, I also got emotional. This little boy was trying so hard to win (and to impress people, esp Dad).

先々週のトーナメントの第２試合のビデオ。途中で、悔しくなって涙を流しながら戦ったハッピー。私も思わず、うるうるしてしまいました。それでも頑張って、金メダルを獲得。

勝ちたい！とかみんなを喜ばせたいなんていう気持ちがあるのかな。こんなちっちゃい子が、必死になってる姿です。

Happy's wrestling team was offering to dye kids' hair for this state tournament to represent the team. Hap really wanted to try it, so we let him.

Wherever we go (like Wal-Mart, supermarkets....), usually guys really liked his head and asked us where we did his hair.

However... this is his first and last time to dye his hair like this. (it's cool to see, but it's too much...)

well, although Happy really enjoyed this hair dying, I guess the bleach took his strength away too. He lost 2 matches out of 3 at the state tournament. He was crying, and throwing his tantrum according to H who took him to the tournament.

I think it was because of too much pressure, different atmosphere, etc for the 5 year old kid.

But he won 2 gold medals during this season at the other tournament, and he won the first match at the state. He did a Great Job!

ハッピーのレスリングチームが、ハワイ州レスリングトーナメントのために、子供たちに髪を染めてくれるということで、ハッピーもやってみた。すごいやろ！

でも、これは最初で最後やな。目立ちすぎて、あっちこっちで「これ、どこでやったの？」とか、「かっこいい！」とか、声かけられまくりで・・・。染めてくれた人には、感謝してるけど、もう最後。イエス様ににこんなんで、会えんなあ・・・なんて。

ブリーチしたせいか、ハッピーのレスリングパワーまで抜いてしまったらしい。土曜日に開かれたハワイ州レスリングトーナメントで、ぼろ負け。熱のこもったダディーからは、いつもの様に技をかけられてなかったと言って叱られ、かんしゃく飛ばしまくって号泣。

きっとこの５歳児には、プレッシャーが大きかったんやろうなあ。

それでも、このシーズン中、金メダルを２つ獲得。この州のトーナメントでもぼろ負けといえども、３試合中の最初の試合は、なんとかポイント勝ち。

初めてのレスリング経験としては、よく頑張ったと思うよ、マミーは。とにかく、本人は、いつもレスリングの練習に行くことを楽しんでたから、それが一番大事。

来年も、楽しみに。

Daddy & Boo on the Ferris Wheel

There was a poster painting contest in Maui County in all (or most of) the elementary schools. The County chose 3 top posters in each participating schools. The rewarding ceremony was held at Queen Kaahumanu Mall.

And Boo got 2nd place in Kamehameha schools Maui, Kindergarten division.

The theme was something like "when do you feel good?"

Boo painted Daddy and himself riding on the ferris wheel at the County Fair.

Once H found out that he was thinking about Daddy as he was painting, he was so touched by his pure love for Daddy. It was a little surprise for H because Boo has been a famous Mama's opihi (mama's boy).

マウイ地域のポスターコンテストがあり、マウイ中のいろんな小学校がこのコンテストに参加しました。それぞれの学校、それぞれの学年から３名の絵が表彰されるようで、ブータンがカメハメハスクール幼稚園部門で、２等賞をもらいました。

テーマは、「気分がいいのはどんなとき？」みたいな感じやったはず・・・。

ブータンは、「ダディと一緒に観覧車に乗ってるときが、気分がいいです。」といって、鮮やかな観覧車をお披露目。

結構ママッ子のブータンが、ダディの絵を描いてくれて、エイチ君は大感激。かなりびっくりしたようですが、めちゃくちゃうれしかったらしいです。

Lansen's BIG 8

This was the big day for Lansen.

He turned 8, and we were blessed to have this day "the first Saturday" which is the stake Baptism day, so he got to get baptized on the same day.

He chose me to talk about baptism, Grammy for opening prayer, and of course Daddy for baptism and confirmation.

We actually had 2 more kids from other ward and 1 investigator in our ward to be baptized which brought soooooooo many families and friends to be the witnesses.

The chapel was full.

Since the ceremony was @ 5, we had so much time in the morning and the afternoon to get ready, but H and I felt so much temptation from Satan to get irritated and frustrated with tiny little things. We knew that he didn't want us to have the baptism. Yet, we also know that the Lord is more powerful than Satan.

I felt the Spirit during the ceremony, and couldn't stop being grateful for all the support and people's love toward us, especially toward Lansen.

Today, his first fast Sunday, he decided to fast with Daddy. I know he's still 8, and some kids don't even fast when they were this young. (I didn't. H didn't...) But as we asked him to give it a try. He said he would.

Well, it wasn't easy for him, but he did till 2 o'clock.

I am so grateful for and proud of his faith.

Our first daughter's baby shoes

Since we found out that we're having our first daughter, I couldn't refuse myself to make these cute little girlie things.

I actually made this a while ago, but now let me be a show-off!!! A pair of baby shoes!

I've done crochet before, but I forgot how completely. This took forever to finish. How many times did I have to pull off and restart....

It's still crooked though... hahaha

Plus it didn't cost much. The yarn was the one I already had in my box, and I got the beads from my mother-in-law's beads collection.

Now I am planning to make a diaper bag. Look forward to it, everybody!

Our First Quarter of 2010

The Head of Ahi.

We got a big ahi from our uncle in church on this new year's day. I thought I knew how to prepare fish, but this one was too big! Plus our knife wasn't sharp enough.

After I fought with this fishy, finally got da head off!!! (Brutal!)

well, I got so much sashimi that our whole family couldn't even finish! Yum! Thanks uncle!

For the Valentine's Day, H and I went to Big Island to visit the temple (since Laie temple has been closed).

This is actually our early 8th anniversary celebration trip - 2 nights 3 days.

We are expecting to welcome our new one in our family next month, we had to plan this trip early before she comes. It was very nice to be away from kids (sorry boys...) to spend time with my honey alone.

We got to see our friends from college FINALLY after so many years with no contact!!!

One of the nicest things we got to do was eating "real" japanese food!!! We found "yokohama bistro" in town. It was a little pricey, but so ono. Their food is not like "fake japanese food with shoyu and sugar". It was a real deal! Since we haven't found anything like this on Maui yet, we thought that we meant to be on Big Island :P

You should try it. (BYW, we ate Shabu-shabu! mmmmmm...)

Every time our kids' teeth fall off, we realize that they are growing so fast. Now Lanlan has no front teeeeeeeth!

and this weekend he will be 8, getting baptized!

Oh my goodness. Time really flies!

This is my creation for Happy's 5th birthday in March. He wanted to have a "Batman" cake so I tried. I was gonna color all black but I didn't have enough icing pencil, but I didn't forget his "MAN BOOB".

He looks nice and masculine, doesn't he???

Main things was Happy loved it.

Happy birthday, Hap!

Happy started wrestling a few weeks ago. He's participated in some tournaments, but this was the first one that he won the 1st place in his weight class. Daddy sounds very happy too.

He did a great job! Way to go, Hap!

バレンタインデーの週末に、ハワイ島へ神殿訪問してきました。

６月の結婚記念日には、毎年、神殿に入ることにしてるんやけど、今年は、赤ちゃんが生まれるすぐ後ということで、ちょっと早めに神殿訪問でお祝い。ちょうど、バレンタインデーってこともあって、ダブル祝。

夜には、コナの海沿いをブラブラして、”横浜ビストロ”というレストランを発見。日本食に飢えてるエイチと私にとって、最高のお祝いディナーでした。しゃぶしゃぶ食べちゃったあ。

このバラは、別にエイチがくれた訳でなく（笑）、テーブルに飾ってあっただけで〜す。付きだしの小皿ものもめちゃおいしかったぁ。

あけましておめでとうございます。皆さんからの、お便りに感謝しています。

私たちの２００９年は、とても恵まれたものとなりました。こんな経済状況のなかでも、エイチに仕事があり、家族が一緒に住むことができ、雨をしのぐ屋

根と

、おなかを満た

す食べ物が十分にあることは、たいへんな祝福で

す。

それでも、あれやこれやと文句を言ってしまう私た

ちは、本間に弱いなあと感じる毎日です。

さらに恵まれて、夏には家族をつれて日本に里帰り。長男は小学校に、次男と三男は幼稚園に短期入園させて、地元の学校生活を味わってもらいました。本人たちは、親の心配をよそに、お友達をさっと作って、かなり楽しんでいました。長男は、給食がかなり気に入ったらしく、コッペパンをしょっちゅう持ってかえって来ては、もの惜しそうにちびちび家で食べてました。牛乳のふたをクラスの子たちから集めて、めんこあそび。この夏で、１００枚以上はためたでしょう。

３人とも、アメリカではしない歩き登校をチャレンジさせられました。私の昔の体験からすれば、短い登

校と思えど、慣れない子供たち。それでも、文句言わずにしっかり歩い

て学校に行っていました。

当づくりにデビューできました！！！楽しかった。冷凍食品、様様です！

私たちが、夏休みに日本に行っている間、お仕事プラスお留守番のエイチは、私たちにサプライズをこしらえてくれましたよ〜。

電話の向こうでは、掃除も洗濯も何もしてないよ〜、ごめん

〜と言っている裏では、私たちの部屋と子供たちの部屋のリモデリングを一人で（友達に手伝ってもらいながら）してくれました。壁と天井のペンキ塗り、キャビネットをラメージセールでゲットしたり、マットや壁に貼る写真・絵を選んだり・・。

エイチのおじいちゃんが作ったタンスを、使いや

すく手を加えて色を塗ってくれたお友達もいました。子供たちの部屋には、２セットの２段ベッド。それぞれには、ちゃんとネームプレートが下げられていました。真っ白だった壁が、ブルーに・・・。

ダディー、グッジョーブ！

年末は、エイチのアイディアで、Salvation Armyに申し込み、クリスマスキャロルを家族でやりました。Safe Wayというスーパーマーケットの前で、３時間、ベルを鳴らし、クリスマスの歌を歌い続け

ました。（もちろん、３時間やから、休憩しながら・・・）

たいてい、大人がボーット座って、べるをならしてることが多い中、うちは子供たちが知っているクリスマスソングを大声で（

特に最初の１時間は）歌ってるのをみて、買い物客はかなり喜んでお金を寄付してくれました。でも、夜６時から９時の３時間は、結構きつかった〜

子供たちの目の前で寄付されたお金が、どこに行ってどのように使われるのかを説明したら、もっと頑張ってくれました。

エイチは、仕事も順調で、秋には、マネージャー集まってのアウトドアトレーニングがありました。一日かけてのトレーニングの中に、ゲームや活動が含まれていたのですが、納豆早食い競争を思いついたエイチ。

オエーと言ってる同僚の中、もぐもぐを納豆をかき込む！自分で思いついたゲームに、一等賞の商品をちゃっかり持ってかえって来た本人です。

盛りだくさんの２００９年。

２０１０年も、楽しい心豊かな年にしたいです。
